What happens to LGBTQ+ people when they turn forty? In Lambda Literary Award finalist and local SF playwright Kheven LaGrone's world premiere 'Group Therapy', they enter a metaphysical, ongoing group therapy session together, all teetering on that needle's point between youth, middle age, and eldership.They revisit their motivations, heal themselves and reconnect with their new selves. 'Group Therapy' invites us into the circle, giving us all permission to rage, age, heal, and connect as queer human beings of color. Made possible with support from the Zellerbach Family Foundation and the Arts Leadership Residency, a program of Theatre Bay Area.

Group Therapy has postponed opening weekend for a week due to non-COVID related illness. Theatre Rhinoceros will postpone the first performance of Group Therapy to Thursday, November 16, 2023, and Opening Night for Group Therapy to Saturday, November 18, 2023 due to illness in the cast.

In 2017 The Rhino celebrated its 40th Anniversary as the longest-running LGBT theatre in the world. In 2019 we were invited to march in the Resist Contingent of the San Francisco Pride Parade (right after the Dykes on Bikes!) in recognition of our long-running commitment to activism, social justice and visibility. Our history continues as we have landed at Spark Arts (in the heart of Castro!,) where all Rhino shows are produced.
