Called "a unique Yuletide tale full of laughter, heart, and a whole lot of
shenanigans," by DC Theater Arts, this comedic holiday play delivers some serious
Christmas magic.
“A Tuna Christmas” follows the Yuletide festivities of the delightfully eccentric cast of
characters in the third smallest town in Texas. With twenty-two different characters,
dozens of costume changes, and just two actors, this play is a fun-filled, satirical look
inside the workings of a small town during the holidays. Written by Jaston Williams, Joe
Sears, and Ed Howard, and directed by Roy Steinberg, this XX play runs from November
15th to December 30th, with performances Wednesdays through Saturday nights at 7pm,
and Sundays at 3pm.
Featuring professional Equity actors Nathan Rothrock and Dane Agostinis, “A Tuna
Christmas” introduces the audience to the eccentric residents of a quirky town called
Tuna, Texas. Together Rothrock and Agostinis combine to play memorable characters
such as two country-fried radio DJ's, a pair of sassy Tastee Kreme waitresses, a gravel-
voiced gun shop owner, a high-strung community theatre director, a charming juvenile
delinquent, a pretentious society matron, a soft-hearted humane society director, a
goofball soft drink delivery man, a goofy road crew worker, an eccentric chicken farmer
and a dozen more.
“Both actors are particularly adept at quickly drawing a sketch of a character while
exploring in more depth the complications of those characters that are more developed
in the story,” explained Cape May Stage’s Producing Artistic Director Roy Steinberg.
