Three-Time Daytime Emmy Award-Winner to star in Shirley Valentine at Cape May Stage.
Cape May Stage is proud to announce that the Tony Award-nominated play "Shirley Valentine" is coming to our stage this summer, running June 7 - July 2, starring the talented Cady McClain in the lead role.
"Shirley Valentine," written by Willy Russell and directed by Roy Steinberg, tells the story of a middle-aged woman who discovers the joys of life and love on a trip to Greece. The play has been a beloved classic since its premiere in 1986 and has been performed around the world, including on Broadway.
Cady McClain, a three-time Emmy Award winner, will be taking on the role of Shirley Valentine. McClain is a veteran of stage and screen, having appeared in numerous television shows and films, as well as in productions on and off Broadway. Cady was recently seen on Law and Order: SVU working alongside Mark Borkowski (Boardwalk Empire), Kevin Kane and Ice-T in the episode “Dutch Tears.”

The production will be directed by 4 -time Emmy nominated Roy Steinberg, Artistic Director of Cape May stage. Roy has directed at scores of regional theaters and most of the productions at Cape May Stage. He has taught acting and directing at UCLA, NYU, Berea College, Lehman College of the Performing Arts and at Muhlenberg College. He has also been a producer/and or director at CMS and for CBS, NBC, and ABC.
"Shirley Valentine" will run from June 7 through July 2 on Wednesdays – Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 3pm at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse in Cape May, New Jersey.
