Lisa Kron is a writer and performer best known for her work in the theater world. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1961, Kron grew up in Lansing and attended Kalamazoo College before moving to New York City in the early 1980s. Kron began her career as a performance artist, creating and performing her own solo pieces in downtown Manhattan venues. Her work drew on her experiences as a lesbian and as a member of the Jewish community, and often explored themes of identity and family.
