Eleanor Burgess’ brilliant, thoughtful, and often bitingly funny GALILEE, 34—currently having its impressive world premiere production at South Coast Repertory through May 12, 2024—is a humorously insightful, beautifully-performed new play that offers an unreliably revisionist examination of supposed events following Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

The song paves the way for the arrival of her sixth full-length album, Timeless, out June 7 via Epic. The New Albany Middle School Theatre Department presents Seussical Jr., based on the works of Dr. Seuss, as its spring musical. Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage as Seussical Jr. weaves a story of friendship, loyalty, and love. Despite all odds, Horton and Gertrude band together to save the Whos, free Horton, and restore peace and unity to the Jungle of Nool. Seussical Jr. teaches the power of being unique, and the importance of fighting for your beliefs.

The series takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). The first five seasons are now streaming. See the newly released photos here!

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer. Simon Godwin is no stranger to the work of Shakespeare. Until May 5, his production of Macbeth is playing in D.C. with a cast led by Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma. The film version of this same production will hit theaters on May 2. BroadwayWorld sat down with Godwin to discuss his take on Shakespeare’s tragedy, Fiennes’ performance, and what the play means for contemporary audiences.

I live in Florida, and I love Florida; Florida has amazing people and an amazing LGBTQ community, but, as you know, the government really isn't on our side there. When the drag bans started to happen, it really freaked you out because it happened like suddenly you weren't allowed to perform outside in Florida. People didn't know this happened, but many of the Pride Celebrations in Florida were canceled.

Slow Joy, the solo project of Dallas based, New Mexican born Chicano artist Esteban Flores, releases his latest single, the urgent and anguished “King Cowboy”. The song looks at the consequences of existing in a capitalist society, including challenging economic realities and represents Flores’ foray into telling personal stories from the perspective of a character. And if they come see RAIN - A Tribute to the Beatles presented by the Dr. Phillips Center, they might just succeed in that time travel. RAIN - A Tribute to the Beatles, a show that has been called 'the next best thing to seeing The Beatles,' boasts a repertoire of nearly 200 Beatles favorites, ranging from such beloved songs as 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'Hey Jude' to classic hits including 'Revolution' and 'Come Together.'  Leading many of those familiar songs, in the iconic shoes of John Lennon is Steve Landes, and actor/singer/musician that has been performing Beatles-songs for most of his adult life and will be a part of the show when it arrives in Orlando. I had the privilege of speaking with Steve a number of years ago to learn a little more about his journey and our conversation still resonates today.
