The musical opened in NYC on 02/09/78 and ran for only 20 performances. The cast included D'Jamin Bartlett, Kermit Brown, James Carruthers, Bob Del Pazzo, Peter Jason, Charles Leader, Fred Martell, Jeff Ware and Y York. Music and lyrics by Gary Levinson and book by Ross Alexander (based on the plays by Frank Wedekind) Adapted and directed by Allen R. Belknap.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

360repco presents Lancelot, a world premiere drama by award-winning playwright Steven Fechter (The Woodsman), and music by New York-based rock band The Head Set. Thom Fogarty directs a cast of four, including Stephen James Anthony* (Bway: War Horse), Lulu Fogarty*, Romy Nordlinger* and Grant Riordon. Performances will be staged at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street @ Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012 from August 13-29, 2014.

Met Music Director James Levine to Conduct Berg's WOZZECK, Begin. 3/6

Met Music Director James Levine will conduct a revival of Berg's Wozzeck, opening March 6 and starring Thomas Hampson and Deborah Voigt in their first-ever performances of the leading roles, Wozzeck and Marie. Levine has led 43 performances of Berg's dark study of a man crushed by society—more than any other conductor in Met history. This season's revival will also star Simon O'Neill as the Drum-Major, Peter Hoare as the Captain, and English bass Clive Bayley as the Doctor.

Much to our pleasure, the movie was turned into SISTER ACT THE MUSICAL, and made its debut on Broadway in 2011. The show is currently touring North America, and makes its way to New Orleans this week.

The Metropolitan Opera and The Juilliard School present an evening of opera featuring Act I of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail; Stravinsky's rarely-performed one-act comedy Mavra; Act I, scene 1 of Berlioz's Benvenuto Cellini; and Act I, part 2 of Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore in the fourth collaboration between the two institutions on Tuesday, February 11 and Friday, February 14, 2014 at 8 PM and Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2 PM in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Met Music Director James Levine conducts the Juilliard Orchestra and singers from the Met's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, as well as singers from the Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts at Juilliard. Director Edward Berkeley will stage the program in a semi-staged concert version.

James Levine and The MET Orchestra return for their annual series at Carnegie Hall with three concerts this season in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The series launches onSunday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. with mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato singing Rossini'sGiovanna d'Arco as well as arias from Mozart'sLa clemenza di Tito. Also on the program are Verdi's Overture to I vespri Siciliani, Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major, and Elliott Carter's Variations for Orchestra. This marks Maestro Levine's first performance at Carnegie Hall since his triumphant return to the podium on May 19.

KS Rudolf Mazzola Passes Away At Age 70

70 year old KS Rudolf Mazzola dies yesterday, Tuesday, 18 May 2010, in Vienna. Born in Switzerland, studied singing in Basel. He was a fellow at the Opera Studio in Zurich, first a commitment was given to St. Gallen and 1969 in Basel. In 1975 he was engaged as a soloist of the Vienna Volksoper, until he was hired in 1977 at the Vienna State Opera, where he was a longtime member of the company and the works. In addition, he has performed regularly at the Salzburg Festival, Munich, Paris, Zurich and Barcelona. In 1988 he was appointed to the Austrian Chamber singers.
