Eryc Taylor Dance will present a new film, Uncharted Territory: Dancers in Isolation, premiering virtually on YouTube Live on March 21, 2021, at 6 pm EST. The event will feature guest artist introductions, a word from the Artistic Director, and more.

Conceived by Artistic Director Eryc Taylor, and developed over Zoom, Uncharted Territory: Dancers in Isolation features dancers Nicole Baker, Chris Bell, Taylor Ennen, AJ Guevara, Eryc Taylor, and Alex Tenreiro Theis,  original scores by Daniel Tobias, and film editing by Benny Krown.

Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) presents a new short film project entitled Uncharted Territory: Dancers in Isolation, available now at https://vimeo.com/482125982. The piece is a preview trailer for a larger project of the same name, which will be developed further at the end of March as in-person performances and a long-form film.

Giving back, providing inspiration, and uplifting those in need are the core of the values of Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD). The ETD Outreach Program is a specialized branch of the Company that serves the most vulnerable communities in NYC. Their mission is to help others find their fire and spark a light in the darkness.

Crushed by the closing of all arts engagements due to the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Eryc Taylor -- Artistic Director of Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) has conceived a challenge for his dancers to keep the creative flame burning during these times of isolation and uncertainty. 

Robert Mark Burke, 10 Hairy Legs company member, has been awarded a 2020 Individual Artist Choreography Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

10 Hairy Legs, the male repertory dance company, continues its aggressive commitment to the commissioning of new works and gains first-time rights to perform Brian Brooks' solo I'm Going to Explode, now totaling 14 World Premiere Commissioned Works since our founding in 2012. Three of the four works will debut at the company's New York Season June 27-29 at New York Live Arts; the fourth dèbuting in New York following its World Premiere at Ocean County College's Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts on April 18, 2020. OCC Commissioned the work with support from the Louis Prima Foundation.

Last year, in 2018, the third annual Dancers For Good Benefit supporting the Actors Fund Dancers Resource in East Hampton was so impressive that I challenged the founders to 'high-kick it up a notch even higher next year'. I'm thrilled to announce that not only did they clearly accept that challenge, they superseded all expectations!

Eryc Taylor Dance and guest choreographers from ETD's grant program performed segments from EARTH at BBG. Taylor's impetus to create EARTH was the urge to present a visual, physical and auditory 'wake up call' to the impact of humankind's impact on global warming.

The fourth annual Dancers For Good Benefit, supporting The Actors Fund, brought a multitude of talented, world-class dancers to Guild Hall in East Hampton. TONY Award-winning actress, Cady Huffman graciously hosted the evening, delivering a light-hearted and cheerful tone as she led the event, which honored Jerry Mitchell, Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

Dancers For Good, the magical celebration of dance, will bring world-class companies, choreographers, dancers and performers under one roof for one night only for a charity event benefiting The Actors Fund, an organization that fosters stability and resiliency, and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan.

I am eager to implement what we have learned and to be able to grow from the first edition of the EARTH workshop series. I am looking forward to seeing choreographer Jordan Ryder's creation, and especially to continue the dialogue about what we can do to avert the crisis of global warming.
