The cast and company of Madam Butterfly at the Royal Albert Hall, produced by Raymond Gubbay with the Royal Albert Hall, will tonight celebrated the production's 100th performance in the venue. The current revival runs until Sunday 15 March.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) announces the appointment of an all-star cast of Visiting Industry Faculty and Guest Artists to its new Technology and Applied Composition (TAC) program, an undergraduate degree offering an unparalleled foundation for success in the diverse and evolving music industry. A unique curriculum integrating compositional craft with music technology will launch a new generation of composers adept in the fields of concert music, sound design and film and game scoring. Now accepting applications for the inaugural class of 2015, the Conservatory will produce versatile graduates who thrive as individual artists and as members of a creative team.

MADAM BUTTERFLY, Giacomo Puccini's masterpiece of doomed love and tragic passion, will play a limited run at the Royal Albert Hall, beginning on 26 February 2015. David Freeman will direct, reviving his Japanese water garden production, designed by David Roger.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents the West Coast premiere of A Coffin in Egypt, a new chamber opera in one act, based on the play, A Coffin in Egypt by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Horton Foote, for three performances only April 23, 25 and 27 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater. A Coffin in Egypt stars mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, one of opera's most beloved figures, whose formidable bravura has won her wide acclaim. Ricky Ian Gordon, the composer, has also composed The Grapes of Wrath, Rappahannock County, and Orpheus and Euridice. Leonard Foglia, librettist and director, directed Master Class on Broadway and Jake Heggie's Opera Last Acts.

Oakland East Bay Symphony and Music Director Michael Morgan continue their 25th anniversary season Friday, January 24, 2014, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland with cellist David Requiro on a program featuring a host of evocative music. The young cellist will perform Kabalevsky's second Cello Concerto on a program with Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet overture, late Bay Area composer Conrad Susa's The Blue Hour and Elgar's 'Enigma' Variations. Requiro returns to Oakland East Bay Symphony after a successful performance of the Dvo?ák Cello Concerto in 2012. The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced complete casting for Hairspray in Concert, featuring some of Seattle's favorite musical theatre stars and the powerful voices of the 250-member Seattle Men's Chorus. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hairspray's 2002 Broadway debut, this unique concert event will play for six very special performances of glorious and irreverent John Waters-inspired wackiness (Friday-Sunday, June 20-23). In 2002, Hairspray was The 5th Avenue Theatre's first world premiere musical to head for Broadway where it won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and launched The 5th's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now the smash hit musical comes home, as audiences have never seen it before.

The concert program featuring two rising stars of the opera stage - soprano Lauren Snouffer and countertenor John Holiday - will include arias and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Christoph Willibald Gluck. The magnificent instrumentalists of Ars Lyrica Houston will perform works by J.H. Schmeltzer, Johann Joseph f*x and Johann Strauss, the "Waltz King."
