San Francisco Conservatory of Music Faculty Centennial Concert Sunday, January 28 The Second of Three Faculty Centennial Concerts This Season SFCM presents its second Faculty Centennial Concert this Sunday, January 28, a performance celebrating current and former faculty members. This event will feature the music of Elinor Armer, Shinji Eshima, David Garner, and Conrad Susa performed by fellow faculty members, current students, and alumni.

San Francisco Opera Center Announces 2018 Adler Fellows

San Francisco Opera Center Director Sheri Greenawald today announced the eleven recipients of the 2018 Adler Fellowship. Eight singers, two pianist/apprentice coaches and one director will take part in the program. The multi-year performance-oriented residency offers advanced young artists intensive individual training, coaching and professional seminars, as well as a wide range of performance opportunities. Adler Fellows are selected from the artists who have participated in the Merola Opera Program. The prestigious fellowship has nurtured the development of more than 175 young artists since its inception.

Plácido Domingo Selects Six Sings for LA Opera's Young Artist Program

General Director Plácido Domingo announced today that he has selected six singers to join LA Opera's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program in the 2016/17 season. The artists were chosen from 650 applicants, 300 live auditions and, ultimately, 28 final candidates. The finalists auditioned in April for a panel led by Mr. Domingo that included Music Director James Conlon, President and CEO Christopher Koelsch and Senior Director of Artistic Planning Joshua Winograde, who directs the program, along with Nino Sanikidze, head coach for the program.

 DALLAS, TX, December 8, 2015 – The Dallas Opera will present opera legend Frederica von Stade, mezzo-soprano, for another magnificent performance in The Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series. The one-time-only recital will be presented Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at City Performance Hall (a 749-seat venue located at 2520 Flora Street in the Arts District, Dallas, TX 75201). Seattle, WA – This October Seattle Women's Chorus (SWC) will kick off a milestone season with Hallows in the Cathedral: Spirits Rising, the first of five concerts in Dennis Coleman's final season as artistic director for Seattle Men's Chorus (SMC) and Seattle Women's Chorus. Each concert in the 2015-2016 season has special meaning to Dennis and the selected songs spotlight the artistry and societal impact of these two world-renowned ensembles. Throughout the season the Choruses will celebrate and honor Dennis' role as an artistic visionary, friend, and proponent for social change in the LGBTQ community and beyond.
