Producers of THE ADDAMS FAMILY announced additional dates today for the Fall 2012 leg of the musical's North American tour. The production will play Dallas (Oct. 2 - 21), Seattle (Oct. 24 - Nov. 11), Salt Lake City (Nov. 13 - 18), Las Vegas (Nov.20 - 25), Tempe (Dec. 11 - 16) and Costa Mesa (Dec. 18 - 30). Plus, Curtis Holbrook (West Side Story, Xanadu) will join the cast of the national tour as "Lucas Beineke."

According to the Chicago Trinune, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, which will close on Broadway later this month, will return to Chicago next week, and audiences should expect a reworked show. Creator Rick Elice said of the harsh critical response for the Broadway production: "It was difficult to get past that at the outset. To be told that this was the worst musical of the past 40 years. Really? That vitriol was part of my energy for reinvestigating the show."

The national tour of THE ADDAMS FAMILY launches on Sept 15 at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre for the Performing Arts in New Orleans and is booked in more than 30 cities through 2012. Productions of THE ADDAMS FAMILY are set to open in Sao Paulo, Brazil in the spring of 2012 and Sydney, Australia in spring 2013, with several more international productions to be announced soon.

Stage and screen star Brooke Shields will extend her run as Morticia in the hit musical THE ADDAMS FAMILY for an additional two months through Saturday, December 31 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). Shields had originally planned to end her limited engagement on Sunday, October 30. 'I am having the time of my life playing Morticia with this wonderful company of actors. Morticia is such a delicious role and THE ADDAMS FAMILY is such a fantastic and iconic piece of entertainment that I just couldn't resist the invitation to extend,' said Shields.
