Casting Confirmed for Giles Terera's THE MEANING OF ZONG

Giles Terera’s boldly inventive debut play The Meaning of Zong will make its London premiere at Barbican Theatre in April 2023, following its world premiere at Bristol Old Vic and visits to Liverpool and Edinburgh last year.

Hamilton's Olivier Award-winning actor Giles Terera will present his new play The Meaning of Zong on Bristol Old Vic's stage this Thursday (11 Oct) for a one-night-only workshop performance. The piece examines the massacre aboard the slave ship Zong in 1781 and the repercussions of these events, which influenced the growing abolition movement in the UK. This rehearsed reading will be followed by a free post-show talk with Giles Terera, Tom Morris and the cast.

Artistic Director of Theatr Clwyd, Tamara Harvey, today announces the full cast for a major revival of Jim Cartwright's The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Opening in the Anthony Hopkins Theatre on Tuesday 10 October, with previews from Thursday 5 October, the company will be led by Theatr Clwyd Associate, Catrin Aaron, in the lead role of Little Voice. She will be joined by Victoria John (Sadie), Christian Patterson (Mr Boo/Phone Man), Nicola Reynolds (Mari Hoff), Simon Holland Roberts (Ray Say) and Joseph Tweedale (Billy). The production sees Co-Artistic Director of Out Of Joint Theatre, Kate Wasserberg, return to Theatr Clwyd to direct.
