Latonia Moore And Ryan Speedo Green To Open George London Foundation Season
The George London Foundation for Singers 2019-20 season marks the centennial of the birth of its namesake, the legendary Canadian-American bass-baritone who was one of the greatest opera singers of the 20th century. The season opens at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 4:00 pm, with a recital by two young American rising stars and George London Award winners: Latonia Moore, soprano, and Ryan Speedo Green, bass-baritone, with Ken Noda, piano.
Rude Mechanicals Announce Full Cast And Creative For EURYDICE
Rude Mechanicals at the University of Michigan, (Ann Arbor, MI) has announced the cast and creative team for Sarah Ruhl's EURYDICE (November 1-3 at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theater). A contemporary wonder of the theater, based on the tragic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, the show will feature new original music by Sammy Sussman. Kellie M. Beck directs, with assistance from Amelia Baumann.

On the night of his thirty-fifth birthday, he reassesses his life by reviewing his relationships with his married friends and girlfriends. While all his friends are happy with their spouses, marriage has never been Bobby's speed. Through a series of vignettes showcasing his friend's day to day lives as couples, Bobby is taken on a journey of self-discovery. Smart and funny, Company takes the audience on a journey of one man's lonely life while he figures out the true meaning behind 'Being Alive'.
Breeders' Cup Challenge Series Continues This Saturday
Last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Mendelssohn headlines the Dwyer Stakes for 3-year-olds this Saturday, July 7, live from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y., on NBC beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. The 90-minute live broadcast, part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge Series: Win and You're In, presented by America's Best Racing,” will also include the $350,000 Belmont Sprint Championship and the $1 million Belmont Oaks.
