Kansas City Actors Theatre will kick off its 2024/2025 20th Anniversary Season of productions with the award-winning The Lehman Trilogy by Stefano Massini, adapted to English by Ben Power.
Starting January 12, 2022 Kansas City Actors Theatre will present “The Pests” in a new adaptation and translation of Molière's “Les Fâcheux” by Dr. Felicia Londré. “The Pests” is presented as part of “KC MOlière: 400 in 2022,” a multi-year celebration of the seminal French playwright in honor of what would be his 400th birthday on opening night, January 15, 2022.

MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CAROUSEL.
The powerfully moving play, THE WHITE ROSE: WE DEFIED HITLER, by David Meyers opened Friday, January 24, at The Coterie Theatre in Kansas City. The 70-minute play is produced in cooperation with the University of Missouri at Kansas City Theatre Department and produced with the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education. The show based on actual events runs at The Coterie through February 9.
A strong cast presents an excellent Unicorn production of a very new play, Bernhardt/Hamlet, A Woman Unbounda by Theresa Rebeck. Bernhardt/Hamlet is a smart, comedic, reasonably accurate portrait of a middle-aged, financially strapped, giant of the nineteenth century French stage still with her powers intact, but with a paucity of mountains she still desires to climb.
Spinning Tree Theatre announces the 3rd Annual Guild Scholarship, sponsored by the company's Guild and administered by the Artistic Committee. In keeping with their mission of educational development in the live theatre arts, Spinning Tree created this scholarship fund in 2017 to assist area high school seniors in pursuing higher education. The 2019 award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship.

Horton Foote's 'Orphans' Home Cycle' is a monumental project for any theatre company. Kansas City's Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre should be recognized for taking it on. It is the first time any company has attempted Foote's Opus since its short Broadway run ending in early 2010.

Lyric Opera's production of 'The Barber of Seville' or 'The Useless Precaution' by Rossini opened Saturday evening at the Kauffman Center in the first of four performances. As is usual for the Lyric, this 'Barber' is slyly updated from the original 1816 version first performed in Rome.
Lyric Opera of Kansas City concludes its 2017- 2018 season with Rossini's comedic jewel, The Barber of Seville, April 28; May 2, 4, and 6 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
