A native of the Twin Cities, Laura studied Theater at St. Catherine University, graduating with honors in 2009. Her most recent theater credits include Clarissa in "Spider's Web," Gwendolyn on "The Importance of Being Earnest," and the First Witch in "Macbeth." She lives in St. Paul, MN with her husband and two daughters.

La MaMa Will Present the US Premiere of THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER


La MaMa in association with Concrete Temple Theatre and Playfactory Mabangzen will present the U.S. premiere of THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER, written by Renee Philippi and directed by Ms. Philippi and Eric Nightengale, with an original score by Lewis Flinn. THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER begins performances on Thursday, April 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 26. Press Opening is Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 pm. Performances are at the Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa (66 East 4th Street, between Bowery and 2nd Avenue, 2nd Floor). The performance schedule is Thursday - Saturday at 7:00 pm; Sunday at 3:00 pm. Stunning Puppet-Forward Production PACKRAT Premieres At Dixon Place


Dixon Place presents Concrete Temple Theater's next multi-media puppet-theater creation PACKRAT, written and directed by Renee Philippi with puppetry design and construction by Carlo Adinolfi and an original score by Lewis Flinn. PACKRAT begins performances on Friday, January 31 for a limited engagement through Friday, February 14. Performances are at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street, between Rivington & Delancey). The performance schedule is Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $19 in advance; $22 at the door. (For Students/Seniors/ID NYC: $17 in advance and $20 at-the-door.) LO (OR DEAR MR. WELLS) Explores Uncomfortable Territory In Sex And Power


Lo (or Dear Mr. Wells) is a daring two-hander that asks whether an intimate relationship with glaring power imbalances can be anything but coercive. It depicts a relationship between a 15-year-old high school student and her English teacher, exploring questions of consent, sex and power. Written by Toronto-based playwright Rose Napoli, it was nominated in 2018 for a Dora Award for Best New Play, highlighting Napoli's unflinching honesty in difficult territory. It is on the GCTC main stage with two previews on April 30 and May 1 and an opening night on May 2. It runs until May 17, 2019.

BRIC Presents Laura Anderson Barbata's THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER


Victorian Mexican Indigenous mezzo soprano Julia Pastrana was billed as "The Ugliest Woman in the World." A title given to her by her manager-husband Theodore Lent, she was exhibited by him and others in the United States and Europe during her life and after her death for 150 years. Chronicling 10 years of work to have Pastrana's body repatriated to Mexico for burial, the renowned artist Laura Anderson Barbata conducts audiences through a series of stories, exercises, and thought experiments towards an experience of radical empathy and a re-examination of the value of a human life.
