New Theatre Company THEE Takes Over Shrunken Shakespeare Company & Launches with THE SPELLS Reading


The NYC-based THEE (The Hey Ensemble) will see members develop original works of theatre and film in a non-hierarchical, ensemble-based atmosphere. The company was rebuilt to align with a mutually agreed upon set of unapologetic values that uplift accessibility, collaboration, and equity.

Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. In the letter, members assert, “Discrimination based on hair style or texture is a destructive practice that has alienated and caused irreparable harm to Black Americans.”

Zhu Yi's YOU NEVER TOUCHED THE DIRT opened at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan on June 6 as part of SUMMERWORKS, Clubbed Thumb's annual series of new plays. The limited run ends on Thursday, June 13 and due to popular demand, an additional 3:00 p.m. matinee has been added on June 13. Single tickets are on sale for $25 ($20 for students) here.

According to Deadline, actress Ashley Park has signed on to join new a new ABC comedy pilot as a series regular. As previously reported, the series comes from RICK AND MORTY writer Jessica Gao. In addition to Park, the pilot will also star Holly Chou, Cindy Cheung, Stephen Park, Kelly Hu, Helen Hong, Ki Hong Lee and John Gemberling.
