American Ballet Theatre (ABT), America's National Ballet Company, brings the Chicago premiere of its new story ballet Whipped Cream to the Auditorium Theatre April 11-14. Whipped Cream features choreography by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, sensational sets and stunning costumes by pop-surrealist artist Mark Ryden, and a revived 1924 score by composer Richard Strauss (performed by the Chicago Philharmonic).

On November 12, 2017, the Auditorium Theatre held its Annual Fall Gala, honoring Sonia Florian of the NIB Foundation with the second annual Adler and Sullivan Award. Guests attended a cocktail reception and dinner at the Standard Club before proceeding to the theatre for A Golden Celebration of Dance, a performance honoring the 50th anniversary of the theatre's grand re-opening in 1967. The performance featured dancers from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet West, Berlin State Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, MOMIX, New York City Ballet, Parsons Dance, The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Vienna State Ballet, and The Washington Ballet.

Katten and Executive Director Brett Batterson, celebrates its milestone 125th Anniversary with a special performance, "Living the History - 125 Years of the Auditorium Theatre" on December 9, 2014. The celebratory evening, which begins with a star-studded program at the Auditorium Theatre (50 E Congress Pkwy), will include a tribute to the diverse entertainment that has been, and continues to be presented at the theatre including symphonic music, opera, Broadway musicals, rock music and dance. The performance will be immediately followed by a Gala Celebration Dinner at the Palmer House Hilton (17 E Monroe) to cap off the extraordinary night.
