Don't Stop Believing: A Theatric Remix of the 1980s at 14Y Theater

A classic coming of age story infused with the music and culture of the 1980s. This dramatic musical comedy cleverly mashes hundreds of iconic 80s songs and movies into a mix of dialogue and song (a la the style of Moulin Rouge).

Smart witty writing, delivered through a sassy theatric performance. Torrey Shine’s award-winning solo show is jam-packed with nostalgic 1980s Easter Eggs, all wrapped into a highly relatable story exploring themes of independence, rebellion, romance, betrayal, and having faith in yourself.

“Don’t Stop Believing” debuted at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it achieved “sell out” performances, and was extended for a run of 31 shows. The show was recently awarded “Best Musical” at the 2024 Tucson Fringe Festival.

APPETIZER: Eileen has a “heart of rock and roll” but her “parents just don’t understand.” She seeks that “crazy little thing called love.” When Rick rolls out his string of promises, you will feel it “coming in the air tonight”. They build a “love shack”, and it “hurts so good!” But when their relationship comes “’under pressure”, Eileen must decide: Should we “give love one more chance”? Or will this be “a total eclipse of the heart”? “Come on Eileen!”
