SYNOPSIS:

“Everything in Hatchetfield seemed normal until people began singing... Then, they began dancing... And now, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire city. It’s up to Paul (an average guy who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to stop this musical apocalypse and save the world. “The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals” is a horrifying comedy musical premiering in Los Angeles from StarKid Productions, the creators of “A Very Potter Musical!”

CURRENTLY SEEKING:

PAUL MATTHEWS-Our protagonist. Paul is a regular businessman who suddenly has the fate of the world resting on his shoulders when it is up to him to save the world. A normal guy whose main defining characteristic is his dislike of musicals. He doesn’t hate them, he doesn't even have enough passion in his soul to be the guy who hates musicals,” he just really doesn’t like them. He’s very content with his boring life and boring job, and doesn’t want anything more. BARITONE/TENOR

TED SPANKOFFSKI-The office creep, a self-proclaimed sleazeball.” Works with Paul, is screwing around with Charlotte behind her husband's back. He's very up-front about what sort of (terrible) person he is, and what people should expect from him. Also plays Homeless Man (who definitely isn’t Ted in a different timeline…). BARITONE.

BILL WOODWARD-Paul's best friend, a divorced man who spends most of her time trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter, Alice. His biggest fear is that he’s letting her down. Non-singing role, but actor will sing in the ensemble once Bill is infected. ANY VOICE PART.

ENSEMBLE- 4-6 performers to play featured roles. Strong singers (all voice parts) and dancers.
