Circuit Playhouse, Inc. will open the Regional Premiere of The Prom at Playhouse on the Square as the first musical of their upcoming 55th Season on August 18th, 2023.
The Prom centers around the story of a small town who’s local high school prom receives the theatrical treatment. After a student is denied to bring her girlfriend to prom, four Broadway stars swoop in to create a magical evening. A story of acceptance and change of thought, The Prom leads audiences to lean on their loved ones and learn to understand them.
Playhouse on the Square’s Resident Company Member Daniel Stuart Nelson (Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Kinky Boots, Tuck Everlasting) helms the project as director and choreographer.
Playhouse on the Square will hold an Open-Call Audition on Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at Playhouse on the Square (66 South Cooper Street) from 12PM - 5PM. Callback auditions will take place Sunday, March 26th, 2023 from 12PM - 5PM. Auditions are opened to folks ages 18 and up.
