Character Descriptions:
Mrs. Violet Venable: A woman still considered striking who retains her sharp wit and mind despite a body that has begun to fail her; grief over the loss of her son, Sebastian, is crippling yet at the same time a driving force in all the choices she makes and the manipulations she enacts. Violet can be charming and gentile and at the same time a force of nature; 50+

Miss Catharine Holly: Unable to overcome the horrors she saw surrounding the death of her cousin, Sebastian, Miss Catharine has been committed to an institution to cope with the tragedy and its aftermath. Catharine is a natural beauty unaware of her strengths but willing to fight for her life when ultimately confronted with the truth of what happened the previous summer; 20s-30s

Dr. Cukrowicz: A charming physician, Dr. Cukrowicz is lured in by the grieving Violet with the promise of generous funding for his struggling hospital. He is reluctant to perform the life altering surgery that Violet is demanding on the young Miss Catharine, suggesting that there is, perhaps, another reason for Miss Catharine's explosive accusations; late 20s-30s

Mrs. Grace Holly: Violet's sister-in-law; Mother to Catharine and George; a woman of Southern society who reluctantly is willing to sacrifice her daughter for a promised inheritance from the late Sebastian's estate; 50+

Mr. George Holly: Grace's son and Catharine's brother; loud and brash with a desire and sole focus on his own personal gain; very willing to sacrifice his sister for the promised inheritance from their late cousin Sebastian; 20s-30s

Miss Foxhill: Personal assistant to Mrs. Venable; no-nonsense kind of woman who can deal with Violet's manipulations yet never forgets her place; 30+

Sister Felicity: A sister from St. Mary's where Catharine currently resides; compassionate yet firm and always trying to stay one step ahead of the impulsive and frantic Catharine; 20s-40s
