Granite Theatre announces auditions for Richard Bean’s
“One Man, Two Guvnors”
Granite Theatre of Westerly, will be holding auditions for Richard Bean’s hilarious comedy “One Man, Two Guvnors”. The auditions are Sunday, May 7 at 5 pm and Monday, May 8 at 7 pm at the theatre, 1 Granite Street, Westerly, RI. The show directed by Lee Rush and the Artistic Director is David Jepson. There are 19 performances for the show between August 4 – Sept. 3, 2017.
The show was a huge hit on Broadway and catapulted James Corden (The Late Show/Carpool Karaoke) to stardom and a Tony Award.
Brighton, England. 1963. Change is in the air, and Francis Henshall. Fired from a skiffle band is in search of work. He finds himself employed by small-time gangster Roscoe Crabbe, in town to collect a fee from his fiancée’s gangster father. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother, herself in love with Stanley Stubbers (her brother's killer) who, in turn, becomes our hero's other 'guvnor'. Fighting a mounting sense of confusion, Francis goes out of his way to serve both bosses. But with the distractions of a pneumatic bookkeeper and select members of the criminal fraternity (not to mention his own mammoth appetite) to contend with, how long can he keep them apart? The theatre is looking for 5 men to play 25 – 35, 3 men – 50 -60, 3 women – 25 – 35 and one woman 40’s (very buxom!). All roles are open and no appointments are necessary. Please bring a head shot or current photo with you to the audition if you have not auditioned with us previously. Readings will be from the script.
