New Hampshire Theatre Project Announces Open Auditions for 2021-22 Season

New Hampshire Theatre Project will hold open auditions for the 2021-22 MainStage Season on Monday, August 23, from 5:30-9 pm. Actors should prepare two contrasting 1-minute monologues. Callbacks for The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane will be held on August 26. Callbacks for all other shows will be announced at a later date.

Actors of all ages, races and types are encouraged to audition. Most roles are non-Equity but NHTP occasionally uses AEA Special Appearance contracts. All artists working for NHTP are required to be fully vaccinated. To sign up for an audition slot, please email

The theme for the 2021-2022 Season is Are we there yet? and NHTP is planning four major productions this season including:

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Dwayne Hartford, from the book by Kate DiCamillo

Rehearsals begin in September

Production runs November 19-December 5, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

Directed by Samanatha Smith

4 roles - 2 female, 2 male, any age or type

All roles will be compensated.

Women Playing Hamlet by William Missouri Downs

Rehearsals begin in November

Production runs January 14-30, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

Directed by Blair Hundertmark

4 female roles, any age or type

All roles will be compensated.

Small Mouth Sounds by Bess Wohl

Rehearsals begin in January

Production runs March 11-27, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

Directed by CJ Lewis

7 roles - 3 female, 3 male, 1 voiceover only, any age or type

All roles will be compensated.

An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestley

Rehearsals begin in March

Production runs May 6-22, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays

Directed by Genevieve Aichele

6 roles - 1 older female, 1 younger female, 2 older male, 2 younger male

All roles will be compensated.
