Are you serious about learning the craft of theatre? Are you searching for more-in-depth training? Would you like to learn a variety of acting techniques, and also have opportunities to study directing, script analysis, theatre history, stage management, technical theatre, educational drama and design? Then NHTP’s Youth Repertory Company is for you!

Created in 1999, the NHTP Youth Repertory Company is designed for passionate, gifted students who want to experience a professional theatrical community. Participation is by audition only. Attendance at all workshops, master classes, rehearsals and performances is mandatory. The Senior Repertory Company (ages 13-17) is offered in three trimesters with performance opportunities in December, March, and June. Pending rights, the Senior Company will present Is He Dead?, a new farce written by Mark Twain and updated by playwright David Ives. The Junior Repertory Company (ages 10-15) runs in two semesters, with a final production of The Jungle Book in April.

Thanks to a generous endowment from the Cherylanne Williams Scholarship Fund at the NH Charitable Foundation, some scholarship opportunities are available each year to both the Junior & Senior Companies. Scholarship awards are based on both merit and financial need. Please inquire for additional information.

Auditions for New Hampshire Theatre Project’s Youth Repertory Company will be held on Monday, September 12, 4:00-8:00 pm & Tuesday, September 13, 4:00-8:00 pm at West End Studio Theatre, 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth, NH. For auditions, please memorize two contrasting 1-2 minute monologues, and bring a headshot and resume, or list of theatre experiences and related skills. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian as auditions will include a short interview with student and parent or guardian. Audition slots are 15 minutes.

For additional information about the NHTP Youth Repertory Company program, please contact artistic director Genevieve Aichele at
