People’s Theatre Project (PTP) seeks diverse and dynamic AEA and non-AEA Actors for our spring production!
As part of our
15th anniversary artistic season, in collaboration with Latinx Playwrights Circle and Pregones/PRTT, PTP will produce a limited run of a new play by Rachel Lynett titled Missing Socks and a Line of Coke (or The Baby Fever Play) directed by PTP Executive Artistic Director Mino Lora.
Rehearsal schedule
March 18 - April 6, 2024, 9:30am-2:30pm, 5 days/week at Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center, 530 West 166th Street, New York, NY 10033

April 8-April 14, 2024 @ Pregones/PRTT, 575 Walton Ave, Bronx, NY 10451
Seeking actors for the following roles:
1. NAOMI, she/her/hers, Afro-Latine, 35, successful writer, mostly TV ad film but some random comic books she's really proud too (this is her job in all 3 parts)
2. ROB, he/him/his, any race, trans, 31, also a writer, novelist, successful in a cult-ish way, claims that's 100% okay as everyone side-eyes him in part I, a paralegal in part II, a data scientist in part III
3. SABINA, she/her/hers, Afro-Latine, 32, 6 months pregnant, NAOMI's cousin but they were raised like sisters, In part one, Sabina is in and out jobs mostly, was a nurse for a bit, now is working temp jobs trying to her life back together. In part II and part III, Sabina is a kindergarten teacher.
4. ZURI, she/her/hers, not white, 35, veterinarian, dating Sabina, wasn't expecting any of this (This is her job in all three parts)
About the play:
What does family planning mean when you're queer? After a failed run at IVF, Naomi wonders what kind of mom she'll be and how. Will she have to steal a baby just to be a mom? Simultaneously, her cousin, Sabina, an ex-party girl who still thinks a good night ends at 3 am, doesn't think she'd made a good mom and has never wanted kids. Too bad she's already pregnant. As the two try to make sense of what defines family, they both wonder: What is motherhood anyway?

Auditions will be held on January 29, 2024 between 9:30am - 2:30pm.
