The play focuses on the timeline(s) of a family as they grow up, grow old, grow together and apart. Filled with humor and heartbreak, the show looks at the parallels of generations. Do we choose family over individuality? Do we have a tendency to repeat ourselves, mistakes and all?
Character descriptions from the playwright:
HENRY- Father who is very susceptible to dancing with his tongue out. He is a generally optimistic man who tries really really hard to bring life, love, and laughter to his family at all times. Think older and slightly less sarcastic Chandler Bing type. Through the play his age ranges from early 20's to early 60's.
DONNA- Mother who knows how much work it really is to take babies and raise them into at least semi-functional adults. She is strong and logical but there is still something that nags at her to say she isn't doing things right. She has the feel of Clair Huxtable with a touch of depression. Through the play her age ranges from early 20's to early 60's.
LIZ- Very much like her mother but isn't quite sure if she's happy about that. Sometimes she can kind of come off like Data from Star Trek, but she'd rather be frank about something than putting on airs. Through the show her age ranges from grade school to early 30's.
DANIEL- Wishes he was a bit more like his dad, mainly because he wants to be in a place in life where more of his stuff is figured out. Tries to make up for being a bratty teenager by being a responsible, respectful adult but sometimes he gets a little tripped up by life's curveballs. Age ranges from grade school to late 40's.
TINA- Daniel's baby-mama. She's nice enough but doesn't quite mesh with the family. She's got plans of her own and can't quite reconcile her differences with Daniel. Age ranges from a pregnant 27 to a "done with this" 33.
RON- Just a vaguely well intending man who loves Liz with all his heart. Age ranges from late 20's to early 30's
ZACH- Dan's kid. Sweet as a little kid, smart and distant as a teenager. Age range 7 to 17.
BOSS- A person who is young Donna's boss. They say things, then leave. Will be doubled with either TIna or Ron
