We will be auditioning for three productions:

REEL TO REEL
A Double Bill of The Archives & Krapp's Last Tape

Production dates: March 27-April 12, 2014

The Archives,by Skylar Fox and directed by Tasia A. Jones

This new one-act play explores an encounter with Krapp's tapes many years after his death. In fulfilling her mother's request to digitally archive these tapes, Anna encounters her own desire to archive her life. As Anna's story intersects with her mother's and that of a librarian helping her with the archiving process, the three women face what they can and cannot preserve. This is a play about human memory, digital memory, regrets and how we try to fit pieces of our hearts into things that will live after we die. Boston playwright Skylar Fox wrote The Archives in response to Fort Point Theatre Channel's call for a woman-centered work to accompany Krapp's Last Tape.

We seek three actresses, any ethnicity, for The Archives:

ANNA, 21 years old

Her MOM, 40s to mid-50s

A LIBRARIAN, 50s to early 70s; she is not fragile or precious

Please note: Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape, directed by Marc S. Miller, will be performed by Steven Barkhimer.

WAITING FOR GILGAMESH: SCENES FROM IRAQ

By Amir Al-Azraki; directed by Marc S. Miller

Production dates: June 20-28, 2014 (tentative)

In this world premiere, Iraqi playwright Amir Al-Azraki explores the many diverse points of view held by Iraqis about the events leading up to and following the U.S.-led invasion of their country in 2003. Al-Azraki dramatizes the problematic lives of Iraqis and the tricky situation before and after the war.

We seek a diverse ensemble of six skilled, experienced actors and actresses to perform about 20 parts, including a wide variety of Iraqi citizens and religious and political figures, as well as American and English officials.

IN THE SUMMER HOUSE

By Jane Bowles; directed by Caitlin Lowans

Production dates: fall 2014

In the Summer House tells the story of mothers and their daughters just before the modern feminist revolution opens new vistas. When Lincoln Center revived this classic in 1993, The New York Timescalled it an unjustly neglected piece that finds its life in the free spin of characters and language.

Truman Capote wrote of the original production: I cannot sit through most plays once, nevertheless I saw In the Summer Housethree times . . . because it had a thorny wit, the flavor of a newly tasted, refreshingly bitter beverage.

Tennessee Williams said: It is not only the most original play I have ever read, I think it also the oddest and funniest and one of the most touching.

John Ashbery described Bowles as one of the finest modern writers of fiction in any language.

We seek eight actresses and two actors:

GERTRUDE EASTMAN CUEVAS, a beautiful middle-aged woman

MOLLY, her daughter, 18 years old

MR. SOLARES, a Mexican-American businessman who has lived in the U.S. for many years

MRS. LOPEZ, his sister

FREDERICA, her daughter

ESPERANZA, their servant

INEZ, middle-aged
