CARMEN - Florida Grand Opera Children's Chorus

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) is excited to announce children's chorus auditions for its 2016-2017 production of Bizet's Carmen. Auditions will take place next week to find community members interested in taking part in the Opera's big season opener.

Community involvement helps us make our productions as grand and spectacular as they were originally intended to be, said Philip Pierce, Director of Artistic Administration at FGO. We are eager to welcome these new additions to our cast.

WHERE: Florida Grand Opera's Doral Center

Performances will take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami on November 12, 13 (matinee), 15, 18, and 19 and at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on December 3 and 5. Applicants must be fully available for all rehearsals* and performances.

Children should bring sheet music for one song, for which an accompanist will be provided. The audition will also include a range assessment. Children's choir rehearsals begin on October 15, 2016 and continue through the rehearsal period on nights and weekends. To reserve an audition slot, please send a photo with a description of the child's performance experience and audition date/time availability to
