A Christmas Carol Auditions at Theatre Memphis

Memphis, TN – Auditions for the annual holiday classic A Christmas Carol will be held September 7 and 8, 2013 at Theatre Memphis. A cast for regular evening and weekend performances (full version) and a cast for weekday school matinee performances (truncated version) will be chosen. Auditionees have the opportunity to select the cast for which they would like to be considered. Auditionees may choose to be considered for both casts. While most actors on the Theatre Memphis stage are volunteers, actors who perform in the weekday school cast of A Christmas Carol do get a small stipend.

Children 5-11 years of age will audition Saturday, September 7 at 9:45am and children 12 -14 years of age will be see that same day at 10:45am. If you plan to bring more than one child and they fall into both age ranges, you may bring all children to the same audition segment. Adults will be auditioned Saturday, September 7 at 12:45pm and on Sunday, September 8 at 5:00pm. Callbacks, by invitation, will be Sunday, September 8 at 6:30pm. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Callback auditions will include dance, readings from the script, and a vocal audition.

Regular performances (full version) are on the Lohrey Stage December 6 – December 23, 2013

Weekday school matinee performances (truncated version) are on the Lohrey Stage December 4 – December 20, 2013 (2 performances per day at 9:30 and 11:15 AM.)

A Christmas Carol returns to Theatre Memphis this year for the 35th consecutive year with the perennial Barry Fuller as Ebenezer Scrooge in the full length version. The abbreviated “daytime” version of the production will feature a separate cast (though one can be in both casts in possibly different roles) and all roles are open for the truncated show.
