BREAKDOWN:

The Squirrels
By: Robert Askins
Director: Vince Ventura

1st Rehearsal: May 11, 2020. Runs June 11 - 28

SCURIUS – [Male, 40s-60s] Great old Gray Squirrel. Big. Fatish. The greatest gatherer of nuts the forest ever saw. Now gone to seed. Father to CHORDATA. Partner to MAMALIA. Adopted father to RODENTIA.
SCUIRIDAE/SCIENTIST – [Male, 30s-40s] Gray Squirrel. Like Riki-Tikki-Tavi. He is too smooth. He might stare too long. He is creepy. Also plays SCIENTIST. He is a scientist. Not a real scientist. A cartoon scientist.
CHORDATA – [Female, 20s-30s] Young Gray Squirrel. Squirrel sexy. Squirrel smart. She knows the forest is changing. She is in love with CAROLINIUS. Perhaps a little too sentimental.
MAMALIA – [Female, 40s-60s] Older Gray Squirrel. The long suffering partner to SCURIUS. She loves him. Knows his faults. Has aided his schemes. She is dedicated to her daughter and wants only the best for her.
RODENTIA – [Female, 20s-30s] Adopted daughter of SCURIUS. Young Fox Squirrel. She swims with the tide that raises her boat.
CAROLINIUS – [Male, 20s-30s] Young Fox Squirrel. Fierce. Strong. Idealistic, but hungry. It is, after all, the dead of winter and mating season is coming.
