I'm not usually all that good at keeping track of what's on streaming, but my brother recommended this show to me so I decided to check it out. It's an animated comedy set in Hell and follows Charlie Morningstar, the daughter of Lucifer who tries to establish a hotel as a base where demons condemned to damnation can try to redeem themselves to Heaven, in order to ward off the occasional raids by angels where thousands of demons are routinely slaughtered.

Fun, right?

It actually is a lot of fun , and a good deal of the charm comes from the voice cast, featuring a ton of Broadway talent. Erika Henningsen from Mean Girls voices Charlie, Blake Roman from Harmony has a key role as Angel Dust, a porn star whose outrageous behavior disguises a great deal of inner pain (Episode 4 deals with his trauma and is both very dark and very moving) Alex Brightman voices a couple different roles including a bloodthirsty angel and a villain seeking redemption, Keith David is the seen-it-all bartender, and there are various recurring or one-off characters voiced by the likes of James Monroe Inglehart, Christian Borle, Jeremy Jordan, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Darren Criss, and others.  There are typically two songs per 24-minute episode, written by Evan Alderete and Cooper Smith Goodwin (aka Gooseworx) that are very much in the musical theatre tradition.

I've watched 6 of the 8 episodes so far and while I'm not quite as high on it as my brother is, I'm still enjoying it quite a bit.

Anybody here familiar with it?
