Thank you cast and crew of Kimberly Akimbo for the 4 of the most profound evenings i've spent in a theater.

Break legs on your Great Adventure!

This afternoon will be #4 for me, going back to the Atlantic run. So fortunate to be in from LA this weekend to catch the last performance of a show that has meant so much to me. (And even more fortunate to have used the weekend to catch Stereophonic, Enemy of the People, Mother Play, and Patriots, and to be capping it off with Illinoise tonight!)

What an enchanting and delightful show! It's filled with humor, touching moments, beautiful music, and a laugh-out-loud storyline. While we'll miss Kymberly, we're thrilled she embarked on her Great Broadway adventure.

Such a clever, quirky, and melancholically sweet show. Glad I got to see it three times on Broadway.

Great run for this sweet little show. Hope this fares well on tour.

Who else is going today?

I’ll be there today and I can’t wait! It will be #5 for me. What a sweet and smart show.

Expecting lots of tears today when they hit these lyrics in “Great Adventure”:

We're crying
Because we're almost done
Time's flying
It's been a lovely run
And so fun, so fun

Thoroughly adored this.  Not only an original score, but unique and refreshing.   THIS is what we need more of!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

What a beautiful show, one of my all time favorites. I'm sure it will be an emotional performance today with a ton of love from the crowd. Happy Trails and Congrats to all...

We just had two in a row Best Musical winners (ASL, Kimmy) close. Keep telling me how the Tonys (or awards in general) are still meaningful? Especially when Wicked's now old enough to drink.

not really a fair comparison -- ASL announced it's closing shortly after winning the Tony, while KA ran nearly a full year after winning (and most likely wouldn't have lasted that long had it NOT won best musical, no matter how much I loved it)

Couldn’t attend the final show, sadly, but went last week for the 5th time. My 4th time, Victoria was out so I just needed to see her one final time. She never missed a beat and it was her best one yet. Thanks to Victoria, Justin, Bonnie and the entire cast and musicians for such a tight and entertaining adventure.  I know they are touring in September and wish the participants the best.

This afternoon will be my 7th time seeing it. Bittersweet, of course, but I am excited!!! I've never been to a closing night before and I'm hopeful it'll be a great experience with the other fans of this show!

Very appreciative and fan filled crowd last night so this afternoon should be special.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Clark gets a standing O at the top of the show even. Seemed possible last night.

Tell that to Some Like It Hot, Shucked or NYNY. Kimberly would have closed by the end of last summer if it hadn't won the Tony so yes, they still matter.

I am so upset I didn't get to see it again on Broadway before I moved. The tour kicks off in Denver and I am on pins and needles waiting to find out who will be in the touring cast. I am glad I at least got to have a very nice chat with Victoria Clark about the show and how it just moved me before I moved.

I heard Judy Kuhn would have been the next Kimberly if the show had stayed open in NY after Clark’s departure, so I’m curious to see if she goes on tour.

Had tickets for today, but saw it twice last month, just seemed excessive, so sold today's tix.

Any speeches or anything at curtain?

I have been hoping that Clark, Cooley and Milligan might do the first leg of the tour since it is heading to the West Coast from Denver. Wishful thinking, I know, but boy would that be nice.

I've never been more scared about the future of musical theatre than when I saw a bunch of children on TikTok calling this show mediocre.

I think this show is just sublime. It's Jeanine Tesori strengthening her already incredibly stable footing as one of the best composers working in musical theatre today.

Farewell, Kimmy, indeed! I hope it does fare well on tour, internationally, and regionally for many years to come. An absolutely beautiful heartbreaker of a show. It healed me in so many ways, not least of which was dealing with unresolved grief over my grandmother’s passing almost 20 years ago. For that, I’ll be forever grateful.

I took 9 trips to the Booth, and wish I could have made it 10 today, but you can’t always get what you want. Wishing this incredible cast all the best in their post-KA journeys.

Absolutely destroyed this is Kimmy’s last day on Bway!! Has anyone heard anything about a possible London transfer?

Well, that was extraordinary and every bit as moving and memorable as expected. Multiple mid-show standing ovations, including Victoria’s and Bonnie’s entrances, “Better,” “Father Time,” and more. Bonnie broke in her brief Act II reprise of “This Time,” and the whole audience came to their feet in cheers before she continued. Very few dry eyes in the house - on stage or off - during “Great Adventure.” Curtain speeches from David Lindsay-Abaire, Jeanine Tesori, Danny Mefford, Jessica Stone, and Victoria Clark. (I recorded all and will post as soon as I can upload.) What a special performance of a special show this was.

The last two Best Musicals closing within a year only makes their Tonys MORE meaningful. The awards show that these shows did not slip by unnoticed and unappreciated.

If the Tonys were only ever a promotional tool to sell tickets, well then they never had much meaning anyway.

I absolutely adored this show and saw this production for the last time Friday evening. I was shocked by how many empty seats there were in the mezzanine.

Does anyone know if Michael Iskander departed the show early? He wasn't in Friday night, and he wasn't there today. He was still listed in the Playbill.
