Making his musical theatre directorial debut, Jake Tyler delivers a wonderful production of HEATHERS-THE MUSICAL for The Mitchell Old Company, a new independent theatre company.

As it approaches its second anniversary on Broadway, Frozen will welcome a trio of new stars joining the company tonight, Tuesday, February 18, 2020. McKenzie Kurtz makes her Broadway debut starring as Anna, Ciara Renée (Pippin, Big Fish, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) stars as Elsa, and Ryan McCartan (Wicked; Heathers: The Musical; Disney Channel's “Liv & Maddie”) joins the cast as Hans, replacing Patti Murin, Caissie Levy, and Joe Carroll, respectively.

The newly released West End cast recording of Heathers includes all the fan-favorite songs from the original version, as well as a few new additions. For longtime fans, it's a welcome treat to have an updated version, but it's unlikely to win over longtime skeptics.

The long-awaited Florida Rep Education Conservatory production of 'Heathers: The Musical' officially opens May 23 at the Historic Arcade Theatre. The production runs May 23 through May 27 with matinee performances on May 26-27. Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present Heathers the Musical: High School Edition in a run that begins tonight. Adapted from the cult classic 1980's film by the same name, Heathers follows the social rise and fall of teenage misfit Veronica Sawyer in a fictional suburban Ohio town. On the heels of a growing romance with social outsider JD and her dismissal from the high school clique known as The Heathers, things in Sherwood, Ohio take a decidedly dark turn.

Underscore Theatre Company, in association with Harborside Films, is pleased to present the Chicago premiere of TONYA AND NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA, a dark musical comedy based on the infamous 1990's Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan "knee whack" ice skating scandal. With book and lyrics by Elizabeth Searle, music by Michael Teoli, direction and choreography by Jon Martinez and musical direction by Aaron Benham, TONYA AND NANCY will play November 26 - December 30, 2016 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) will continue its 2016 season entitled Paint It Red with Heathers: The Musical. The upcoming staging marks the first production for this title in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area for the first time. The production will run at Drama Learning Center, where Red Branch is the theatre in residence, from August 5-27, 2016. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

But when misfit Veronica Sawyer upgrades to their status and then rejects their regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy J.D. has plans to put the Heathers in their place. ANIKA LARSEN, the 2014 Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner currently starring on Broadway in Beautiful -- The Carole King Musical, introduced her debut solo CD Sing you to Sleep with a special concert at Birdland Jazz Club as part of the 'Broadway at Birdland' series last night, March 23. The 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, presented by the National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT), kicked off with THE 46TH MINUTE, a concert hosted by Lindsay Mendez and featuring performances by Heidi Blickenstaff, Doreen Montalvo, Mamie Parris, Bryce Ryness, and more. Musical presentations started October 23 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and included Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton. On Monday, September 22, 2014, The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 10 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2014 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating ten years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexington Avenue.
