Blue Man Group, the critically hailed theatrical phenomenon with an open run at New York City’s Astor Place Theatre, celebrates 30 years of living in full color with a variety of festivities and special offers planned throughout the month of November including its 16,000th performance at Astor Place Theatre today, November 7 and special birthday performances during the week of November 15.

Before he started hitting the airwaves weekly as a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live, Fred Armisen was a young musician from Long Island who moved to Chicago to play percussion for the pun rock band Trenchmouth.

It was twenty-five years ago when their odd little show opened at the tucked away Astor Place Theatre, but it wasn't long BLUE MAN GROUP became an instantly recognizable image and an international hit.

The Blue Man Group made an appearance on the April 1 episode of The Celebrity Apprentice, helping the men's group raise money for its charity. The men's group includes Clay Aiken, Penn Jillette, Dee Snider and Arsenio Hall. Watch the video below to see how Aiken and others reacted when the blue men blew up cash-filled balloons!
