This weekend, tenor Frederick Ballentine returns to the L A Opera virtual stage for a spooky Halloween-themed “Living Room Recital.” He partners with mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron and pianist Kunal Lahiry to perform some of opera's most mysterious and scary songs—including the murder scene from Carmen.

The Muny announced today that it will offer 10 weeks of free online Muny entertainment for the summer of 2020. For 10 consecutive Monday nights, with a single repeat stream on the subsequent Thursday, audiences and fans can experience the magic of their Muny summer online at muny.org with both curated and newly created entertainment.

Featuring two terrific hours of the greatest songs ever written, including That'll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Johnny B. Goode, Raining In My Heart, Everyday, Shout and many many more, this show is just Peggy Sue-perb!

'Oh Boy!' BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY is rockin' and rollin' now through Feb. 16 at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Whether you grew up bopping along to his music or this is your first Buddy experience, there's something to enjoy for everyone.

For those too young to remember, from 1957 to 1962 The Everly Brothers sold more than 35 million records and had 35 Billboard top-100 singles, 26 in the top 40, and to this day, carry the record for most Billboard charting hits of any American Duo. Their success at that time was only rivaled by Elvis. The Zmeds are absolutely thrilled to be able to contribute to a cause that supports the recognition and preservation of the intimate origins of America's greatest Rock 'n Roll sibling duo, stating, 'We are not impersonators. Our aim is to honor the aesthetics of the Everly Brothers' iconic sound and their unique place in music history, all while having a little fun telling our own personal story.' And that they certainly did with great style, talent, and humor.

The Aronoff Center and Music Hall will be open to the public during Cincinnati's much-anticipated BLINK a?" one of the largest light, art, and projection mapping events in the nation a?" Thursday, October 10 to Sunday, October 13 from 7:00 PM-11:00 PM each night.  Restrooms will be available, and guests may purchase drinks and light snacks at the venues' bars.  In addition, BLINK-inspired art installations/exhibitions may be experienced at both buildings.

Does everyone love Buddy Holly? The Brits certainly do. Alan Janes' BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY opened on the West End in London in 1989 and ran for eight years the first time, toured the United Kingdom over 25 years, and was revived for a year on the West End in 2007, so there's been massive love for the show there for three decades. It's been here, too, as BUDDY opened on Broadway in 1990 and has kept going around America since then as well.

Metropolis presents the biographical rock & roll musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story July 18 August 31, 2019. Buddy tells the true story of Buddy Hollys meteoric rise to fame from the moment in 1957 when Thatll Be the Day hit the airwaves until his tragic death less than two years later on The Day the Music Died.

Graveyard Club's new album Goodnight Paradise is out today and available to stream and purchase everywhere including Spotify and Bandcamp. The twin cities band are thrilled for the world to hear the whole album, and they will celebrate its release with a hometown show at Fine Line Music Cafe on July 26th. Having just completed a west coast tour, Graveyard Club will play dates across the midwest this July as well, with east coast dates to be announced in the coming weeks. BASE Hologram has just announced North American tour dates for Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock 'N' Roll Dream Tour, a groundbreaking tour featuring the award-winning rock and roll legends. Accompanied by a live band and back-up singers, this cutting-edge, multi-media holographic performance with remastered audio will transport audiences back in time for an evening of Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly's greatest hits! The performance comes to the Van Wezel for its Sarasota debut on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10 a.m.

Graveyard Club (Matthew Schufman (vocals, synths), Michael Wojtalewicz (guitar), Cory Jacobs (drums) and Amanda Zimmerman (bass, vocals)) began inspired by a unique list of shared interests: the classic short stories of sci-fi author Ray Bradbury, the music of Ryan Gosling's little-known band Dead Man's Bones, and a fascination with both 50's crooners and 80's pop music. 'My parents played a lot of oldies in the house as I was growing up,” recalls Matthew. “Some of my earliest musical memories were of hearing Roy Orbison, Everly Brothers, and Buddy Holly blasting out of the living room speakers. The melodies and emotion of those songs captivated me instantly. I was transfixed. As a teenager, I fell in love with the dark, synth-heavy sounds of The Cure and New Order. Since then, I have been frequently drawn back to the 1950's and 80's as a source of musical inspiration.”

Today, Graveyard Club share their new single “William” from the forthcoming album Goodnight Paradise, out June 28th (Pre-Order). Debuted via Consequence of Sound's “Origins” feature, the band describe how the single was inspired by, among other things, Ben E. King's classic “Stand By Me”, the St. Paul, MN neighborhood of “Cathedral Hill”, and author Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine.

Most Midwesterners older than a certain age have heard the name and may even know how young Buddy Holly died.  Some fans know exactly where they were and from whom they heard the news.  Many fewer know much about Buddy's backstory.   That hole in the history in early Rock and Roll is plugged by the new production of "Buddy … The Buddy Holly Story" at New Theater Restaurant in Overland Park now through July 7.

Northport's exquisite John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a boffo incarnation of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story. Running through March 3rd at the Long Island venue, the musical is strongly directed by Keith Andrews and boasts an absolutely stellar cast many of whom have been in previous productions of this show. While we know Buddy (along with a few of his friends) died young and tragically in a plane crash, Alan Janes has certainly created a joyous celebration of Buddy's life.

Kit Harington - renowned for his leading role in the internationally acclaimed series Game of Thrones - and Johnny Flynn - star of the widely celebrated film Beast and US TV series Genius, star in Sam Shepard's ferociously funny, modern classic, True West, the first UK production of Shepard's work since his death last summer.
