Rob Mathes To Perform 3 Holiday Concerts This Weekend To Sold-Out Audiences

The holidays are Rob Mathes' favorite time of year - they are the time that Mathes returns home to the Greenwich, Connecticut, area and performs his annual Holiday Concert. This year's concerts are December 14 and 15 at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, and December 16 at the Schimmel Center in New York City. All three concerts are sold out and will feature Rob Mathes, his all-star band, his choir of 'Saints and Friends' and special guests Sting, Vanessa Williams and David Sanborn who will join Rob for a few holiday-themed songs at the Performing Arts Center. Sting and Vanessa Williams will also join Mathes at the Schimmel Center on Sunday for a few songs.

Centenary Stage Company's annual January Thaw Music Festival heats things up through the month of January with three exciting musical guests in the Lackland Performing Arts Center. The festival features Michael Davis and the New Wonder on Saturday, January 12 at 8PM; the Harry James Orchestra on Sunday, January 20 at 2PM; and finally Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper on Saturday, January 26 at 8PM. All performances will be held in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Ave. Hackettstown, NJ.

Emmy winner and Grammy, Tony, and Drama Desk-nominated arranger and composer, music producer/director, and singer/songwriter Rob Mathes returns to the Performing Arts Center, Purchase College, on Friday, December 14, and Saturday, December 15, at 8:00 p.m., for the annual Rob Mathes Holiday Concert. Rob is celebrating 25 years of performing his annual holiday concert and is honored to be joined this year by special guests Sting, Vanessa Williams and saxophonist David Sanborn, who will each perform a couple holiday-themed songs with Rob and the band.  Sometimes, Social Media can bring together the best of the best in unusual ways at the perfect time. Oglio Records was pleased in this particular case when Smash Mouth and their guitarist Greg Camp connected with rapper Kool Keith via Twitter. This eventually led to an ongoing private messaging stream between them. They continued the conversation, coming to the conclusion that a collaboration on some new music with a purposeful message would be especially timely. With the foundation for this new recording established, Keith believed the inclusion of yet another artist whose voice would add additional credibility to the project would be an asset.

You immediately become absorbed in the hysterical and uplifting score by the renowned George and Ira Gershwin, Ken Ludwig's timeless love story, and, of course, stellar dancing. The Syracuse University production of this Tony Award-winning musical, now playing in the Syracuse Stage Drama Complex, is no exception. Director and Choreographer Brian J. Marcum has brought a passionate and talented cast together to create a toe-tappin' production of this audience favorite.
