Singer and actress Kristin Towers-Rowles returns after 4 years to the Arthur Newman Theater at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert in her well-received one-woman show "My Lovely Lineage" on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2 PM. The show will feature songs and stories about and her famous family and growing up in Hollywood along with highlights from her own well established stage career, with local musical director Joel Baker accompanying her on piano.

Real-life husband and wife Broadway performers, Rachel Tyler and Matthew Tyler, will bring their cabaret concert "For Better, Or Worse" to the Arthur Newman Theater at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 2 PM. Presented by Les Michaels' Life Is A Cabaret Sundays In Summer Series, the show will feature songs and duets from a variety of genres with local musical director Joel Baker accompanying then on piano.

Francesca Amari will debut a new show entitled 'Songbirds: The Women In My Head' on October 20, 2013 at 2 PM in Palm Desert at the Arthur Newman Theater in The Joslyn Center. The show will feature material from multiple genres from Broadway to contemporary by singers and songwriters including; Carolyn Leigh, Dorothy Fields, Ella Fitzgerald, Linda Ronstadt, Eva Cassidy, Nancy LaMott and more. Two-time Tony Award-winning Broadway composer William Finn will appear in Palm Springs on March 16, 2013 in 'Heart and Music: A Conversation With and Tribute To William Finn'. The man behind such Broadway hits as FALSETTOS and THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE as well as A NEW BRAIN and ELEGIES: A SONG CYCLE and more will be the 2103 recipient of Desert Ensemble Theatre Company's Melpomai Award, given annually to honor excellence in the development of theater nationally.

The latest venue for Cabaret Open Mic is Rock Garden Bar and Eatery in Palm Springs, which recently underwent a major remodeling and features a new menu at economy-friendly prices. Shows start every Wednesday at 7:30 PM and go until closing at 10 PM. Singers who wish to perform should arrive at 7 PM to sign up and usually sing two songs each.

Joel currently has several weekly gigs at such spots as Studio One11, The Rainbow, and Streetbar. He is also one half of the popular Cabaret Open Mic's with Les Michaels as the host and who also presents the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series from which A Trio Of Duos is part of.

It begins today, July 17th and will culminate September 4th with a final sing-off when the winning singer is cast in 'A Magical Night On Broadway' at THE SHOW on September 8th with a list of Broadway's 'Who's Who' and hosted by JoAnne Worley.
