Kevin Wood Comes To Arthur Newman Theater

Chicago cabaret singer Kevin Wood will bring his new show, 'Taking A Chance' to the Arthur Newman Theater on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 2 PM. The show features songs that point a comical and even poignant light at life, relationships, careers, health, aging, retirement, and more. Joining Kevin will be local pianist, Joel Baker. The Arthur Newman Theater is located at the Joslyn Center at 73750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert. The show is part of the 10th season of Cabaret On Sundays Series presented by Les Michaels. Tickets for the show are $15 cash only at the box office that opens at 1 PM.

Local entertainer Bonnie Gilgallon will debut her new one-woman cabaret concert on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Arthur Newman Theater in Palm Desert. The show is entitled "Bonnie Sings Rosie" and the Rosie is the incomparable Rosemary Clooney. Bonnie's show is part of the Cabaret On Sundays Series 10th season and presented by Les Michaels. Joining Bonnie will be pianist Joel Baker and Danny Flahive on bass. Tickets for the show are $15 cash only and sold at the door that opens at 1 pm for the 2 pm show.

The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) and Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT) join theatrical forces on Sunday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. as they bring an enchanted evening of 'The Best Of Rodgers And Hammerstein' to the desert to benefit both organizations. This cast for includes two-time Emmy® nominated actress and singer Bobbie Eakes along with the vocal talents of desert favorites Theresa Jewett, Charles Herrera, and Keisha D, who will perform numbers written and composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Members of the Palm Canyon Theatre Company will sing selections from Oklahoma!  the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will present  'There is Nothing Like a Dame' from South Pacific, 'We Kiss in a Shadow' from The King and I and 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me' from State Fair.  The concert will be followed by a reception under the stars.

CLUE THE MUSICAL, as interpreted by director Lance Phillips-Martinez and music director Joel Baker, Desert Theatreworks' production is a great deal of family-friendly fun. Mr. Phillips-Martinez and Ashley Hernandez (who also plays the multiply-widowed Mrs. Peacock) have provided superb choreography. Add an excellent cast, a terrific musician (Brian Alec Thom), and the twist of giving the audience the opportunity to solve the murder, the result is a highly enjoyable 95 minutes.
