Yiddish FIDDLER ON THE ROOF Extends Again Through November 18th

The 104-year old National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's (NYTF) critically-acclaimed sold-out Yiddish language production of Fiddler on the Roof, playing at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (MJH) is extending for 14 more performances-including a special 104th presentation. A first for NYTF, the unprecedented success of the Yiddish language Fiddler on the Roof has allowed the production, presented with English and Russian supertitles, to be extended twice since it's July 4th debut.

The live talent competition is free and open to the public. CUMULUS MEDIA, #1 in country and radio's dominant source for country music, launched the fourth annual NASH Next 2018 grassroots national search for the nation's newest star earlier this year in over 54 U.S. markets including New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit and Nashville.

The Guthrie Theater (Joseph Haj, artistic director) announced it will present BAD NEWS! i was there… created and directed by JoAnne Akalaitis with Kate Atwell, Greg Taubman and Ashley Tata with original music and sound by Bruce Odland. Playing June 2-3, 2018, for four performances only, this unique theater experience will take place in the Guthrie lobbies in promenade style, which requires patrons to stand and walk during the performance. A limited number of chairs will be available for accessible seating.

In a time when issues of immigration, assimilation, xenophobia, and socio-economic upheaval are more present than ever, the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene will bring to the stage a reimagined version of Moishe Rosenfeld and Zalmen Mlotek's Amerike-The Golden Land, a musical journey of the immigration experience. Playing at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, across from the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, from which the story has taken inspiration, this limited Off Broadway engagement opened last night and will run through August 6th. Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents the culmination of its expansive and hugely successful second season with the 2017 Voices From a Changing Middle East Festival. This year's festival is of particular resonance in this 50th year since the Six Day War and the start of The Occupation, and focuses on two taut dramas about the lives, circumstances, and humanity of Palestinians in Israel and Gaza.
