Emery Entertainment, Inc., in partnership with Arizona Theatre Company (Sean Daniels, Artistic Director; Billy Russo, Managing Director) presents An Evening with CS Lewis at the Temple of Music & Art, Feb. 21-23. When tragedy strikes it is often the relationships forged between those who survived that allows the victims to carry on. This shared experience bonds strangers and families alike. But what about those who were spared? Though family and friends not present may have avoided the worst, they, too, struggle with reconciling the impact to those they love and the guilt they feel having not been impacted directly. And all involved have to find a way to move on and live their lives. This prevailing emotion is at the center of Barbara Lebow's play, A SHAYNA MAIDEL which is now playing at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford.

Norwegian trance powerhouse Ørjan Nilsen has officially dropped his highly anticipated fourth studio album The Devil Is In The Detail via Armada Music, available for streaming now. 

Academy Award winning producer Joseph Feury may be best known for his work on groundbreaking films like “Down & Out in America”, “What Sex Am I?” “Nobody's Child,” and “Baghdad ER”, but in recent years he's turned his attention to the canvas. Michael Douglas, Elaine May, and Lee Grant are proud to present the first complete retrospective of his work, on display at The National Arts Club through October.

UBCP/ACTRA, the autonomous branch of ACTRA in British Columbia, has announced this year's nominees for the 8th Annual UBCP/ACTRA Awards. The awards ceremony honours five of its members for their exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry in the past year. As a peer-adjudicated awards show, the night will not only highlight talent across multiple categories but provides an evening of celebration for nominees, winners and fellow community members.  

Platinum award-winning Welsh songstress Donna Lewis and producer, arranger, mixer and engineer David Baron have teamed up again on 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)' their own rendition of the original by Kate Bush released on 30 August via Here and Now Recordings.

Norwegian-based DJ and producer Ørjan Nilsen has released an invigorating new single, 'The Chosen One', released today on Ørjan's own label In My Opinion - a sub-label of Armada Music - and announces his 4th studio album The Devil Is In The Detail accompanied by an album release party.  

Live theatre creates a connection with the audience in a way unlike any other medium. Sometimes this connection builds excitement, sometimes it sparks compassion, and on other occasions, it forces you to confront something uncomfortable or difficult to create greater awareness and understanding. The creative team of John Kander and Fred Ebb did this with many of their musicals over their career together. In CABARET they illustrated the rise of Nazi Germany, and in CHICAGO brought attention to the role the media plays in sensationalizing criminals. But in one of their last collaborations together, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, Kander and Ebb not only approached a difficult subject matter (9 young African-American men in Alabama falsely accused of rape in the 1930's), but they did so using one of the most distasteful artforms in American history, the minstrel show. So, it is a bold move for West Hartford's Playhouse on Park to offer this difficult production as the final performance in its tenth season.

Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill celebrated 35 years of acclaimed Off-Broadway plays/musicals and art programming at The Central Park Boathouse last night, May 15 at 6:30 pm.

What makes someone a true artist? Does it have to do with skill? Passion? A unique eye? Or is it about letting go of earthly things and embracing the traditions set forth by generations of artists before them? And what happens when the path to artistic enlightenment leads to a deep-seated conflict with one's values, religion, and family expectations? Such are the conflicts at the heart of Aaron Posner's MY NAME IS ASHER LEV, based on the book by Chaim Potok, which is now playing at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT.

In what is becoming a Memorial Day tradition, composer and conductor John Rutter will lead a gala concert for MIdAmerica Productions in Carnegie Hall. The 2019 edition, on Monday, May 27 at 8 pm, will feature his first United States performances of selections from his newly published anthology, Sacred Choruses.

As the magic of the holidays drifts away, the lights are taken down and people settle in to the muted grays of January, having something fun, distracting, and entertaining to keep your mind off the cold weather and the dreary days can be a real find. Good news - MURDER FOR TWO, Playhouse on Park's current production, is just what the doctor ordered to fight the winter blahs. It is a funny, fast-paced, murder mystery with a few twists, and it starts 2019 off with a (literal) bang.
