David Geffen School of Drama at Yale Will Welcome Jill BC Du Boff and Mikah Berky to Design Faculty
Jill BC Du Boff has been appointed to the faculty at David Geffen School of Drama at Yale and Head of the Sound Design Concentration and will also serve as Sound Design Advisor at Yale Repertory Theatre. Mikah Berky will join the Design Program faculty on December 1, 2023, and will also serve as Scenic Charge at Yale Repertory Theatre.

Along with Janes, the group features three young instrumentalists who performed with him in the on-stage band of Broadway's School of Rock: guitarist Brandon Niederauer, drummer Raghav Mehrotra and bassist Jersey Sullivan.

Merritt David Janes, previously from the original Broadway company and the Dewey Alternate on tour, is taking over the role of Dewey. Also joining the cast are Madison Micucci as Patty, Layne Roate as Ned, Gary Trainor as Dewey Alternate, Brian Golub as a swing and Jonathon Timpanelli as an ensemble member.

Conductor and Composer David Newman is known for creating the music for nearly 100 films, including "Serenity" (2005), "Ice Age" (2002), "Anastasia" (1997), "Matilda" (1996) and many others. He comes from a dynasty of composers, the Newman family being the most nominated for Academy Awards, all 92 for film scoring, arrangement or original song. Jon Burlingame is the nation's leading writer on the subject of music for film and television, and has recently written about the composers and scores in "Phantom Thread," "Black Panther" and "Star Trek: Discovery." He is a lecturer at the University of Southern California, a best-selling author and a regular writer for Variety magazine. Dean Parisot is a film and television director who has recently worked on shows such as "Santa Clarita Diet," "Grace and Frankie" and the pilot for the new NBC dramedy "Good Girls." Parisot is also known for directing the films "Galaxy Quest," "RED 2" and "Fun with Dick and Jane."
