Following the screening, Mr. Alves will explore the making of Close Encounters and behind-the-scenes challenges including creating the massive alien ships, moderated by Thomas A. Walsh, ADG, Production Designer and ADG Film Society Co-chair. The annual 2019 Screening Series Production Design: Designers On Design, highlighting the work of renowned Production Designers and their creative collaborations, is in association with American Cinematheque.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) Film Society and the American Cinematheque are co-hosting the annual 2019 Screening Series “Production Design: Designers On Design” highlighting the work of renowned Production Designers and their creative collaborations. In The Spotlight has been run in Stratford, Connecticut for over 25 years. It has been a staple for students between 7th and 12th grade who wish to participate in musical theatre. In 2016, the Mighty Quinn Foundation was asked by the town to take over the program. For the past three summers, In The Spotlight has flourished as a theatrically engaging and educational program for middle school and high school students. Those involved not only gain experience on stage as actors, but also work to build connections with their other cast members.
