On Sunday, February 26th, the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra will present Harmony from Discord Meets Mozart's Requiem, featuring contemporary composer Wu Fei's Hello Gold Mountain paired with Mozart's powerful and exalted Requiem, at the Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham, WA.

In the video, Gallup/Na'nízhoozhí, Anthony Roth Costanzo and Davone Tines sing music by Matthew Aucoin written to poetry by Jake Skeets. Lowe and Skeets are both Navajo artists. Skeets, who grew up in Gallup, gives his hometown a leading role in his poetry. Lowe's film is an unflinching yet tender portrait of the city in 2021.

Los Angeles Opera presents a digital recital exploring the invaluable contributions Latina composers have made to the world of classical music. In addition to this memorable season, Opera Lafayette will mark its 25th anniversary by unveiling a brand new website along with a celebratory video on October 29. 

Members of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra perform Handel's Messiah with the Montclair State University Singers and a quartet of vocal soloists. The Utah Symphony today announced the appointment of Conner Gray Covington as Principal Conductor for the Deer Valley Music Festival's 2019 and 2020 seasons, in addition to his responsibilities as year-round Associate Conductor of the orchestra. He is scheduled to conduct nine concerts as part of 2019 summer's festival, including performances with the Indigo Girls, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, and E.T. The Extra-terrestrial in Concert.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) Music Director Designate Jaime Martin makes his only appearance this season on LACO's Orchestral Series when he conducts the West Coast premiere of the LACO-co-commissioned song cycle Voy a Dormir by Bryce Dessner, known to many as a guitarist with Grammy Award-winning alternative rock band The National and one of the most sought-after composers of his generation, on Saturday, April 27, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre, and Sunday, April 28, 2019, 7 pm, at Royce Hall. Dessner's work was written for and features Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor, who is also spotlighted in Mozart's Requiem with soprano Sarah Shafer, tenor Thomas Cooley, bass Dashon Burton and the USC Thornton Chamber Singers. Martin begins his tenure with LACO in the 2019-20 season.

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is thrilled to present what is likely the first modern performance of Alessandro Scarlatti's 1697 opera LA CADUTA DE' DECEMVIRI on February 10, 2019. The opera tells the story of Virginia, the hero of Roman republicanism, during the tyrannical rule of the ten men (Decemvirs), and the wicked Appio Claudius.
