SF Sketchfest kicks off its 21st comedy festival with legend Eric Idle at the Castro Theatre on Thursday, January 18 followed by over 200 shows taking place through February 4 in venues across San Francisco.

From parts of the team that brought you THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NY: THE UNAUTHORIZED PARODY MUSICAL and M3GAN: THE UNAUTHORIZED PARODY MUSICAL…and from other parts of the team that brought you a canceled show on the SyFy Channel…comes a hilarious & irreverent new musical about a centuries-old Hanukkah folktale, and a decades-old beloved children's book written by an acclaimed author who we hope won't sue us.

SF Sketchfest has revealed the initial lineup for the 2024 Comedy Festival in San Francisco. Tickets go on sale on November 19.

Acoustic songwriters Sam Clark and Yasmine Shelton, who make up the folk duo Basset, often look out the window of their Toronto basement apartment dreaming about going back to parts of the world they’ve fallen in love with. And it’s their appreciation for the natural world and its intersection with city life.

Emerging Artists Theatre will present Y2K written and directed by Joe Natalzia. The production is part of the 2022 New Work Series. Performance takes place at TADA Theatre in Manhattan on October 22nd at 9pm

Today, producers Brian Moreland, Ron Simons, Eric Falkenstein, Mike Jackson and singer John Legend announced complete casting for Blue, a play by Charles Randolph-Wright and directed by Phylicia Rashad which will play a 16-week limited engagement at New York's legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125th Street) in Harlem starting Monday, April 27 with opening night set for May 10.. Blue will run through August 16.

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) has announced the theater directors chosen to develop new plays and musicals as part of the 2019 Drama League Artist Residency Program. Public work-in-progress presentations of each residency will be held periodically throughout the year at The Drama League Theater Center, 32 Avenue of the Americas, in Tribeca. As rehearsals start today, final casting is announced for the world premiere of King Kong, who will bring terror - and laughter -  to The Vaults tunnels underneath London's Waterloo Station from Thursday 22 June.
