Interview: Saki Kawamura, from Roundabout Directors Group, Shining in New York
Saki Kawamura : NYC-based theatre/film director originally from Japan. She has an MFA Directing from Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. Saki is currently a member of Roundabout Directors Group and the Associate Artistic Director of RenGyoSoh, an award-winning butoh theatre company in NYC. Recent directing credit includes: “ICEBERG” (RenGyoSoh), “Everest” (Chain Theatre), “The Giving Tree” (Unfix NYC). Associate/Assistant credit includes: “The Cher Show” (National Tour), “Murder on the Orient Express” and “A Jolly Holiday: Celebrating Disney's Broadway Hits” (Paper Mill Playhouse), “JOY: A NEW MUSICAL” (George Street Playhouse) and “Mystic Pizza” (Ogunquit Playhouse).

Producer Douglas Thompson announced development of the musical WATCHER IN THE WOODS, based on the 1976 novel by Florence Engel Randall, with music by Johanna Telander, book & lyrics by Douglas Thompson, and directed by Saki Kawamura.
Heloise Wilson's AMERICAN STANDARD Will Be Presented at Ren Gyo Soh's New Reading Series
Heloise Wilson's American Standard, is chosen to present at Ren Gyo Soh's Reading Series 2. This reading series is started and led by Saki Kawamura, Associate Artistic Director and a Japanese immigrant artist, to explore and develop new voices from immigrant artists. The series encourages risk-taking and an open spirit towards creating new work, including the process of getting feedback from the audience for the further development.
International Art And Ecology Festival: UNFIX NYC 2021 Runs June 11th-27th
UNFIX NYC comes back after a year-long break! The 5th season of the festival takes place online this year to collaborate with UNFIX festival, UNFIX Bologna, and UNFIX Tokyo. This festival aims to create an awareness of ecology through the arts, with live performance, film, visual arts, and site-specific events.
