Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work.

El Instituto de Arte de Chicago presenta la exposición Remedios Varo: Science Fictions (Remedios Varo: Ficciones científicas), integrada por más de 60 pinturas y dibujos de la artista hispanomexicana, entre ellas 50 obras del acervo del Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), perteneciente a la Red de Museos del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal), que abarcan 22 dibujos, 11 cuadernos, seis objetos de su archivo personal y 11 óleos. De estas piezas, 19 cuentan con declaratoria de monumento artístico.  

“Spirit lives in everything” ‒ This iconic quote by the late artist Sari Dienes serves as the entryway to the standout new exhibition by the Boca Raton Museum of Art of three breakthrough artists: Sari Dienes (1898-1992), Matthew Schreiber (b. 1967), and Sri Prabha (b. 1969). The work of each artist is showcased within its own gallery in this winning trifecta, across a panorama of art that encompasses the Museum's first floor. All three spaces are curated by Kelli Bodle, the Associate Curator of the Museum (on view June 14 – October 22).

Kevin Ray Johnson's (The Unpredictable Times) 10 Minute Play Una Noche en Tejas - When Beyonce Met Selena (which recently premiered at The 2021 Equity Library Theatre Fall Virtual Play Festival) will be heading to The New York Theater Festival's 2021 Winterfest, Off-Off Broadway at The Latea Theater this December.

Theatre production company Parity Productions, the only New York theatre company that ensures that they fill at least 80% of the creative roles on their own productions—playwrights, directors, and designers—with women, trans, and gender-expansive artists and offers free tools to encourage the rest of the theatre industry to do the same, has awarded two commissions to Kelley Nicole Girod for This Stretch of Montpelier and M Sloth Levine for At Hotel MacGuffin. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 10th as a hybrid event over zoom and in person at the Manny Cantor Center.

Parity Productions will premiere the filmed stage production of the world premiere play MIRRORS by Azure D. Osborne-Lee, 2018 Parity Commission Winner, at their 2021 Awards Ceremony and Celebration (AC&C) on Wednesday, November 10th.
