Simon Rattle is possibly the most interesting conductor before the public today. And one thing audiences can count on is that no two performances he conducts will ever be identical. There is no question that he brings forth fire and magical playing. There is no question he bring forth colors that you never heard in a piece before. But sometimes, one wonders if its all simply design just to sound different, not necessarily better than the rest.

It's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart (Eric Morris), is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. Backed by his tried-and-true bandmates, Sammy (Patrick Hunter) and George (First Year Apprentice Nathan Hoty), Robbie is the life of the party-until his own fiancée, the red-hot siren Linda (2nd Year Apprentice Lexi Pinnata), leaves him at the altar. Julia (Melissa Cotton Hunter), a winsome catering waitress, tries to cheer him up, and it dawns on Robbie he is falling for Julia.

The Harlem School of the Arts' (HSA) dance director, Aubrey Lynch, today announced that the world-famous Radio City Rockettes will help to prepare the young precision dance ensemble, The Harlemettes, for their December 19th, 7:00 pm appearance at the Kaye Playhouse, located at 695 Park Avenue, NYC 10065.

Love is in the air with Opera Theater of Cape Cod's (OTCC) Valentine's weekend benefit concert Some Enchanted Evening: A Valentine's Gala today, February 16, 7:00 pm, Wellfleet Preservation Hall, 335 Main St., Wellfleet. Joseph Turbessi serves as music director, and Ethan DePuy is stage director. Black-tie dress is encouraged, but optional. Proceeds from the performance fund OTCC's expenses for its production of Puccini's La boheme, being performed this summer.

Western Avenue, operates under the FREE THEATRE MOVEMENT, which began in January of 2018 along with partner theatre, Theatre Y. The words 'carefully taught', drawn from a song in Rogers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, promise artistic green vegetables, an edifying moral lesson about the origins of racial prejudice in American society. Cheryl L. Davis's play contains exactly such a lesson, but it is wrapped in an equally edifying story complex enough to promise something other than simpleminded answers.

Princeton Symphony Orchestra Opens Season with Beethoven's 9th
On Saturday, September 16 at 8 pm and Sunday, September 17 at 4 pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) opens its six-concert Classical Series with two iconic works in the orchestral repertoire - Beethoven'sSymphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 "Choral" and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. The Beethoven's 9th concert marks the first collaboration with the highly regarded Westminster Symphonic Choir since Rossen Milanov became PSO music director in 2009. Both performances will be held at historic Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall on the campus of Princeton University and include a free Pre-Concert Talk for ticket holders featuring Mr. Milanov and choir director Joe Miller.

Playwright (and Keegan Theatre Company Member) Matthew Keenan adds his version to the litany of adaptations and does so with a delightful spin in An Irish Carol.
