Jekyll & Hyde opened last night at North Shore Music theatre (NSMT) to yet another standing ovation and thunderous applause. Overall the evening was a winner.

Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) has announced recording artists, Broadway veterans, and 'American Idol' finalists Constantine Maroulis and Diana DeGarmo will lead the cast of their upcoming production of Jekyll & Hyde (September 25 - October7), under the direction of Broadway's original Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Robert Cuccioli.

From the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation The Producers comes this monster of a musical comedy, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, coming alive at Bill Hanney's award winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) from Tuesday, August 15and through Sunday, August 27.

BEEHIVE is a musical so jam-packed with hits that it's almost overwhelming.  Though this show is not a traditional musical so much as it's a musical revue, there is a nice loose plot running through the whole production that serves to give the songs political and social context and really drive home how tumultuous the 1960s were and how dramatically different the early part of the decade was from the end of it.  The cast of seven women start out as young adults, and then as the time of the songs passes, they grow up, learn more about the world, and channel that knowledge back into the music.  It's a fun night of nostalgia, but also one that doesn't completely sugarcoat the problems of the past.

Bill Hanney's award winning Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) is set to make its own kind of music with BEEHIVE The '60s Musical, the ultimate celebration of 1960's female empowerment. Smokey Joe's Cafe, the longest running musical revue in Broadway history, kicks of the summer season at Theatre by the Sea. The show is a solid and energetic spectacle, but drags in certain sections, and seems hemmed in by the small size of the stage and the sound of the live band.
