From November 17 through 22, BAM presents the Masc film series. Spotlighting the rich stories and courageous lives of trans men, butch lesbians, and gender-nonconforming heroes, this collection—curated by writer-archivist-filmmaker Jenni Olson and critic Caden Mark Gardner—journeys through nearly four decades of cinema history in search of authentic, complex representations of masculine identity as it exists outside the realm of cisgender men.

Davis released 'Fish Bowl’ this past spring, her ANTI- album debut. Across ‘Fish Bowl’’s 12 deeply personal tracks, Davis traces her very own hero’s journey, from the moment she steps away from her old life to the moment she finds inner peace. She follows these steps through the eyes of Fish Bowl’s central character, FiBo.

Portugal’s Hause Plants are announcing their new EP, Field Trip To Coney Island. The first single, “I Think I Might”, is the band’s late night anthem, drawing from their love of LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes and the frenetic energy of a late night out in Brooklyn with their own brand of jangle-y synths.

Reminiscent of Laura Viers and Tori Amos, ‘Fish Bowl’ is Davis’s ANTI- Records debut. To coincide with its release she has also shared a new video for the title track. Directed by Austin Goodwin, the video features different characters all played by Davis that symbolize the different sides each of us has to our personality.

A deeply personal album, Davis charts its path through the eyes of Fish Bowl’s central character FiBo. She is sharing the spare, slow-building track “Call Home,” which is what Davis calls her “big pandemic feelings song.” Processing isolation from the confines of a bedroom in her mother’s house.

She follows these steps through the eyes of ’Fish Bowl’’s central character, FiBo, who starts out on opening track “Monster Mash” realizing the community she cultivated.

A staged reading of the play Yerma will be presented on December 16th at The Vino Theater in Brooklyn, NY.

Compared to Liz Phair, Madison Cunningham and Courtney Barnett, Kate Davis has signed to ANTI- Records and is releasing the new track “Consequences” to accompany the announcement. A ruminative, diaristic song, Davis considers the results of a lifetime of choices on “Consequences” and lets them wash over her.

'Yerma' is an acclaimed Spanish play by Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca. The play tells the story of a childless woman living in rural Spain. She is trapped between her sense of duty and honor to her circumstances and her desire to live a full and meaningful life and to have a child. Her desperate desire for motherhood becomes an obsession that eventually drives her to commit a horrific crime.
