Born and raised in Metro-Detroit, Jonathan began acting in July of 2009, when cast as 'Tim, Sr.' in Horizon Films "Happy Holiday." He has been in a number of independent feature length and short films since then, notably WCT Entertainment's feature film "Lovers and Friends" as the lead 'Marcus 'Duney' Smalls,'which debuted at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed nationwide on DVD. Jonathan made his theatrical debut in December of 2009, at 1515 Broadway in Detroit, as 'Jonathan Lewis' in MLB Entertainment's "Shades of War," which had debuted earlier the same year off Broadway. Jonathan was brought back for a Detroit reprisal in October 2010, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, but this time as the lead 'Samuel Francis.'
