On the Los Angeles Opera website this week, soprano Sarah Vautour, together with pianists Steven Blier and Jeremy Frank, offer a recital of cabaret classics for her a?oeLiving Room Recital.a?? San Francisco opera notes that one of their Merola Opera Programa??s illustrious alumni, baritone Lucas Meachem (2003), opens Merolaa??s Virtual Recital Series on Sept. 27 at 4 p.m. PDT, with a?oeI Left My Aria in San Francisco.

Early next year, Opera Philadelphia follows the success of O18, the second edition of its season-launching festival, with four performances of Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream led by Music Director Corrado Rovaris at the historic Academy of Music (Feb 8-17). Starring the dream team of Tim Mead, Anna Christy, and Game of Thrones alum Miltos Yerolemou, all making company debuts, the production marks the long-awaited first American presentation of Robert Carsen's classic staging of the opera, which has been touring the world for more than a quarter of a century.

Audiences have just five weeks left to see David Hare's critically acclaimed new play The Moderate Soprano, about the love story at the heart of the foundation of Glyndebourne, directed by Jeremy Herrin and starring Olivier Award winners Roger Allam and Nancy Carroll. The production enters its final weeks at the Duke of York's Theatre where it must end a strictly limited season on Saturday 30 June.

After its momentous success at the Hampstead Theatre, David Hare's sweet love story transfers to the West End. Centring on the formation of the worldly revered Glyndebourne, the play reveals the two great passions of John Christie: the opera, and his beautiful wife, Audrey Mildmay.

The Moderate Soprano opens in the West End this week, two years after the production's run at Hampstead Theatre.
